Plans to tackle air pollution

DRASTIC measures including road closures could be put in place to tackle air pollution hotspots in Camden, Mayor of London Boris Johnson has revealed.

Five areas in Camden, including roads in Swiss Cottage and Bloomsbury, have levels of air pollution higher than legally binding EU limits that come into force this year. Outlining his draft Air Quality Strategy last month, Mr Johnson said: "If we cannot get the emissions down we may have to have traffic-free days.
